I'm about to adopt a cat from this girl in my building. She works a lot and spends quite a few nights at her boyfriend's apt so she's feeling neglectful of the cat and starting to resent her because of it. I'm not a cat person, but having fed Hooker on a regular basis, when the girl asked me if I wanted to take her, I said sure. For those wondering, I was told the cat was named Hooker because she's an attention whore. It's true, she's adorable though. Ugh, I could feel the testosterone leaving my body as I typed that.
My problem is now this... I don't want to inherit the single-guy-with-cat stigma along with the cat itself. :killme:
So, I'll attend any gathering with little or no expectations. Heck, if nothing else, I'll be seen in the company of many single women. 8-)
Any help on breaking/holding off the afore mentioned stigma would be greatly appreciated.
*** my apologies of course to anyone offended by my single-guy-with-cat generalization ***
