No, that stuff really exists.  It's basically Indian Coke, which is why I have to go to JH to get it. I don't remember the name of the place, but there's a big supermarket that has Thums Up, Indian 7-Up and other exotic Indian sodas.

I'll look for it.  There a couple of big Indian groceries - Patel's and Subzi Mandi.  I haven't been to Jackson Heights in a couple of years.  I wonder, there's a lot of Indo-Pak groceries near here on 36th Avenue between Crescent and 31st Street, maybe they sell it, too.

Have you tried Ting, from Jamaica?  It's a soda made with grapefruit juice - there are two flavors, at least.  They sell it in the Caribbean section of Trade Fair.  Trade Fair also sells Schweppes Tangerine soda, imported from Egypt, in the Middle Eastern section.  Both Ting (in a glass bottle) and Schweppes Tangerine (in cans) tast great.

Combining two threads here:

My second husband, like my first husband (who inspired the milk & Pepsi question), is from Punjab, India, so I asked him about Thums Up Cola.  He says it's delicious, especially when you add milk - aaaaaaak!!!!! :-o

Diet Coke, it's my favorite drink, though Diet Cherry Coke comes in a close second.  I wish more places carried that.  Diet Lime Coke is good, but I think it goes bad quickly as you occasionally get a bottle that just tastes off (anyone else experience that?)

I don't think I'd even heard of Pepsi Throwback, but if they really wanted to throw us back, why not put it in a glass bottle?

As for a cheeburger cheeburger, I made them at home recently, but they weren't my best work.  Maybe because I didn't serve them with Pepsi, Pepsi.

Now I'm in a bind - I'm hungry.  Do I get a cheeburger cheeburger here at school, or do I wait till I get to Flushing tonight and have a Joe's Best Burger?

Pathmark used to carry pepsi throwback but from what I hear it is only avaible in PA at this time, check out the pepsi web site as the throw back is limited in its marketing, the wife and i both  liked it

Best Yet (37th St just above 20th Ave...aka the bestest supermarket in Astoria) has Pepsi Throwback AND Mountain Dew Throwback! I didn't know that the Mountain Dew had a little guy cartoon on it! I only noticed the Dew in the 12-pack of cans, though there may have been 2L bottles, I don't remember. I'll check it out next time I'm there (probably this weekend).

If you're in south Astoria, you can take the Q101 and get off at 20th Ave if you don't feel like walking.
What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?

Since New Years Day I've been seeking out first the Mountain Dew, then the Pepsi Throwbacks.  They were both less intense than the current corn sweetened brew; just a bit gentler on my systems.

On another matter, I was briefly addicted to brazilian Mate Couro in the thinner 2 liter bottles from the Brazilian store on 36th Avenue.  They've stopped carrying it, so I've got to find another source.
If I can't walk there,
It doesn't exist.

Pepsi, hands down.

Was a little disappointed with the throwback though.

Hmmm, it's that time of year again.  At Passover the bottlers go Kosher.  I was in Pathmark 2day, and they had the Coke 2 liter bottles with the bright yelllow caps and the K markings that denote CANE SUGAR.  I guess this separates the need for Pepsi Throwback with the only times of year you get Coke throwback.  I also saw some of the Pepsi flavors (Sierra Mist, etc) with different markings.  You get to briefly ENJOY!
