astorians mobile
« on: March 08, 2008, 09:19:24 PM »
so the mobile version of this site is phenominal, I don't know how many people besides me use it as frequently, but there' 2 tiny things I noticed that are not available on the mobile version but are on the regular site.
1. no time stamp on posts
2. no 'insert quote' option.
any reason there features were left out?

It's an SMF feature (the software of the board) rather than something that has been set up specifically for this board, and there are many regular features not available on the mobile version.  There is a hack (another SMF board I'm on uses it) so that it appears as a regular, albeit miniaturized, version of the forum on a mobile device (mine's a blackberry).  I hate the SMF default, so much so that I rarely check Astorians from my blackberry.

Merm, would you be willing to look into the hack if there is enough demand?

So! got another one for ya. I took a pic of a building construction on Newtown road and I wanted to upload it and ask if anyone knew about it, and point out how funyit looks next to a tiny house. I uploaded it to my photobucket account from my phone, but I can't upload it to astorians! and photobucket won't give me an 'embed' code or anything :( is there a way I can upload it on the mobile version of astorians or do I have to wait til I get home?
