I Trust My Government...
« on: October 06, 2005, 09:04:00 PM »

I Trust My Government, because...

My Government knows what is best for me.
My Government is in Control and is always Effective.
My Government provides me with the Information that I need to know
and the equipment that I need to use to get the job done,
For My Government.

I don't need to question My Government,
Nor do I need to know what My Government knows.
My Government will always make the Right Choice.
And it is this Choice that I don't need to make, or
Concern myself with.
My Government makes that Choice for me.
And for this I am Proud.
I am Proud of My Government.

And if it comes to one-sided politics or subverting our efforts so it can get ahead or capture Glory for Itself or feel in control then it doesn't matter, no matter what the crisis may be, whether in Iraq or New Orleans or micro-politics as appears in local community groups, I will obey, because...
I Trust My Government.

-A post-Apocalyptic poem by Xenophon

Could I get me some of that government?

I think yer off yer nut there.  There is no way that is post-apocalyptic.  It is clearly pre-apocalyptic.  After an apocalypse, there will be little or no government and anarchy will rule.  You'll be wishin' for some big brother by comparison to humanity unchained from society.

However, it does remind us to question.  Questioning doesn't really hurt anything, but keeps us on our toes and reminds us to not be too complacent.  Complacency lets us think it is okay for others to make all of our decisions for us and leads to hopelessness in the political system and a sense of disenfranchisement.

So there.
