There is a new restaurant / cafe going in at Steinway and 28th Avenue called Melody and I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about it...looks like a nice place.

Used to be the old El Manara.  They've been working on it for a number of months now.  I love the doors.  I bet it'll be a loungey type place.

Just want to share my experience at Melody last night - I loved it!  We went there with a Lebanese friend.  He ordered for us:

Houmous
Kibbe
An amazing salad (I cannot recall the name but it had bits of toasted pita in it)
A platter of assorted grilled meats
Morrocan mint tea

We enjoyed the food immensely, loved watching the Middle Eastern videos (by the way, they are very provocative and no one is praying, in fact the young ladies are barely wearing anything) and the service was quick and friendly.

I recommend this - it really is a wonderful and different experience.

Sorry - just to clarify why I wrote ' no one is praying' - this is due to a previous post that I read on another thread about Muslims praying, which implied that they are somehow connected to an insurgency.
