Queens Plaza (QP's) Marketplace
« on: April 17, 2007, 10:48:02 AM »
I was browsing craft show listings when i came upon an advertisement for the grand opening of Queens Plaza "QP's" Marketplace!  Man, this was THE place to go back in the 80's for leather motorcycle jackets (MC's, that is what we called them!), jeans, records and other assorted goodies. I will definately check it out.

They're also listing that they'll have a farmer's market and over 400 vendors. Interesting!

Cool! I remember going there as well in the 80's. It was where i bought my first army fatigues- which were subsequently thrown out by my parents!! Finally a farmers market which isn't all the way down Vernon Blvd.
if you stand for nothing you will fall for anything

Looks interesting.  Reminds me of the swap meets in CA.  I'm very curious about the farmer's market.

This is great news!!.. When I was a kid my parents ran a booth there. I'd hang out with my aunt and walk around the place when it wasn't busy. .Great Stuff!

I checked out the website and it looks great, but I think they had the wrong address. It said that it was on West Street.  When you get off the N train at Queensborough Plaza which way do you walk to get there? :-(

I tried going today but it was truly horrible.  Perhaps I was there too early.  Went around 10:00 a.m.  No Farmers Market at all, just a few pathetic tables showcasing junk.  The Street Fair was much better, even early in the day.  Hopefully, the Flea Market will improve with time.

I was there around 1pm today and thought maybe I'd gone too late...?  Yes, hopefully it will pick up over time.  Plus with the street fair going on, this weekend wasn't the best timing.  I didn't understand why there were so few tables, though - I saw something earlier on the flea market website which said that all the vendor space had been rented out.

As someone who lives near the area, I hope it's something that really takes off.

I tend to think it will, in just a little time.
