El Mariachi on Broadway
« on: November 22, 2016, 10:46:40 AM »
Anybody ever try El Mariachi on B'way? I find it to be one of the best Mexican places in the neighborhood and despite its prime location, flies under the radar. Just curious to get other opinions on their food.

Yes, El Mariachi is very good Mexican food. They have a more authentic Mexican cuisine menu. I've eaten there many times. Recommended.

For the record the address is 33-11 Broadway.

I like it.  And I am one of those obnoxious Mexican Food snobs born and raised in Los Angeles.   El Mariachi is authentic.

Pretty good tamales too. (They’re hidden at the bottom of the Tacos section of the menu.)

I love Mariachi.  Great Enchiladas Suizas with Chicken, and the chips and salsa there are all homemade and are wonderful.  Great tacos too.  They have a liquor license now.

Their salsa is a big disappointment. Not freshly made, bottled.

Really?  They're usually getting it out of a bucket with a ladle.  I'd always thought it was made on site and it's hot, very spicy.

I'm not sure about that. They seem to have fresh whenever I go...which is often.

Same here - I'm there two to three times a week and it has always been fresh, and hot!  It's one of the things I look forward to when I go there.

My favorites are the chips and salsa + the tacos al pastor. They have very heavy on pineapple but I really like that.

The enchiladas suizas with chicken are out of this world.

All of their tacos and tamales are good.

Glad they finally have a liquor license, though the drinks are not their strength.
