Hate to break it to you snowflake but he won the election. That is how our electoral process works. I know you just can't stand that your 8 years of endless government programs and illegal voting is over but you will just have to deal with it. I hand you a participation trophy for trying.

Now, this is a neighborhood interest site so take your BS political views to a like minded socialist flag burning protest and get them OUT OF ASTORIANS.COM!

Actually, the way the process works is that the electoral college elects the president. The people elected the electoral college. The electors are in most states technically speaking not bound to their votes. So you're wrong.

I know you just can't stand that your 8 years of endless government programs and illegal voting is over but you will just have to deal with it. I hand you a participation trophy for trying.

You sound like a sore winner.

Now, this is a neighborhood interest site

The election surely affects our neighborhood. The president went and made a point to vilify both Mexicans and Muslims and there are plenty here in Astoria. I think it's absolutely an issue that will become relevant in a practical sense moving forward under his presidency.

so take your BS political views to a like minded socialist flag burning protest and get them OUT OF ASTORIANS.COM!

You probably would have done better if you had simply posted that you think it's irrelevant to this site, rather than post the above vitriol. You're not being very convincing I think.

I like how you dissect my response instead of acknowledging this type of discourse has no place on this board. But most of your opinions are equally off point.

Chill out dude. This is the people's site - not yours. You don't make the rules or tell people what they can post about.  Treat others with respect - you're violating the terms of the website - re-read the agreement you signed when getting your account.

I'm not violating any rule. i am voicing my opinion that this type of discourse has no place on a "Local Chat" board.

Your first reply was a lot more inflammatory that you make it out to be.

I like how you dissect my response instead of acknowledging this type of discourse has no place on this board.

Why would I acknowledge something as if it was true if I think it's untrue?

I think you need a safe space.

Lets talk about the Clinton Crime Syndicate if we are going down a political path. Here's some reading for all.

I am a flag burning socialist, a humanist, and an American who has lived in Astoria for over 20 years. Pointing to the National Review for any substantive news, the publication that *still* decries the civil rights movement, is like grocery shopping in a dumpster.  How can you possibly beleive that Trump is not a crimnal? How could you possibly beleive he gives a s*!t about the working class? This man has never had to work for anything. Not withstanding that he denies that climate change exists, wants to overturn the 35 year old Roe v. Wade (what's next, woman can't vote?), and his running mate has said that he believes in shock therapy as treatment for homosexuality.

This election will affect all Americans, and all Astorians. In day one after the election there are myriad reports of hate crimes happening en-mass around the country. Trump himself is not the biggest problem, he is too stupid to do too much damage alone, but he has given a voice to the far right who still believe that this country should by white and christian.

How do you reconcile the KKK publicly supporting Trump for President? How do you feel about the KKK and White Nationalist throwing a "victory party" to celebrate the elections? This is not 1930, we are a nation of immigrants, we celebrate religious, ethnic and gender diversity. Mexicans are not coming here to take your jobs, all Muslims aren't terrorist, and homosexuality is not metal illness. New York and Astoria in particular are melting pots built on the hard work of immigrants and we intend to not let our country roll back to the stone ages because 59 million under-educated, under-informed, naive voters don't care if we go down in a ball of flames.

Then you too, should be dissatisfied by these results. I'm not saying Hilary is perfect, but I did vote for her for the good of my black, latino, muslim, and gay friends, and for the safety of our planet.
