suggestions for a good auto mechanic
« on: March 31, 2015, 04:47:22 PM »
Hi,
I have been getting ripped off by various auto mechanics in the area. Need a reliable/honest and reasonable auto mechanic. I searched the site for recommendations and came across an old thread(2007 or so)
http://www.astorians.com/community/index.php?topic=10742.new#new

Does anyone have any recommendations..???

Thank you!!

I have used these guys a bunch of time and they are totally honest and reasonably priced. Right off the BQE too

Probably a little late for the original poster but I'll add

Metro Tire of Queens
35-55 Vernon Blvd
Astoria, NY 11106
(718) 726-4915

They are on Vernon just off 36 Avenue at the foot of the Roosevelt Island bridge and have been there as a family business for at least 30-40 years.
It says Tire in their name but they are a general mechanic shop and have always treated me well,  fixing my vehicles correctly the first time and never finding extra/unnecessary work to pad the bill.
