New restaurant opening on Ditmars

I noticed that a new restaurant is under construction and it looks like it's ready to open soon.  It's right next to Fresca Tortilla.  I think that's close to 33rd St.  It looks cute and  cozy.  I wonder what kind of restaurant it will be.  Does anybody know?

MP Taverna...Michael Psillakis brings more Greek food to Greek Town, NYC.   Been to his other joints as well, Kefi in Manhattan , and MP Taverna in Roslyn...good stuff.  Would have liked a German brew house or an Irish Potato Barn.....

No, they mean a different place.  Much smaller storefront in the middle of the block.  I noticed it also last weekend and we peaked in the windows.  To me, it looked like it might turn into more of a salon, from the sconces on the wall.  They didn't look like the style for a bar or restaurant.  But we'll see.

The paper was off the window the other day. Yeah, back room did have a ventilation hood. And there appeared to be a baker's rack in there, too. The walls had flat-screen TVs on both sides of the space, and there was a bathroom for customers visible to the right of the kitchen area. Mike Psillakis is opening a new restaurant in Astoria?!?!  I'm there!  I had one of the best meals of my life at MP Taverna is Roslyn.  He's from my hometown too(East Northport).  Nice guy.  Great food!

The restaurant you are referring to which used to be Mezzo Mezzo isn't the restaurant I originally started this about.

Hoping for something interesting to occupy that small space next to the (terrible, in my opinion) Fresca Tortilla. Anyone have any info?

I don't think Fresca Tortilla is awful.  I like the chicken fajita and black bean soft taco best and the prices are a real bargan.

Fresca is great. It's fast, cheap and filling. Sure, it's not the best food in town, but that's not why I order from them.
