Powhatan/Pocahontas Democratic Club January Meeting
« on: December 26, 2011, 10:33:18 PM »
Powhatan/Pocahontas Democratic Club's next meeting will be held on TUESDAY January 3rd at 6:45pm. While our clubhouse is still under repair, we will be meeting at the Greater Astoria Historical Society 35-20 Broadway 4th Floor. Our guest speakers will be the Astoria CERT team. They will give a presentation on emergency preparedness. This training is important for all, homeowners and renters alike.
Additionally, we will distribute petitions to get President Obama onto the ballot for the 2012 election here in NYS. January 3rd is the first day to sign a petition. Come help us get the President onto the ballot and be part of his re-election team. Someone will be discussing the activities going on around these petitions.
Our holiday party was a huge success with the Northern Democratic club. Almost 100 people attended the event and we collected food for our annual food drive. To date, we have collected almost 200 cans of food. Additional donations of canned food can be made at this meeting as we are distributing the food next weekend to local Astoria food pantries.
We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season and has a happy New Year.
Looking forward to seeing you on January 3rd!!
Light refreshments will be served.
