Moscow Subway Blast.... London, NY Next?
« on: March 29, 2010, 09:59:04 PM »

While  we Americans are focused on health care, with brave pro-health care politicians like Weiner of  NYC saving his office  from antiacid, we would  do well to remember  the real threat, globally and in our  own nation from an ideology  that threatens us all.

ummm...any part of the world can be subjected to a terrorist attack. It has NOTHING to do with the current debate of health care.

Do you really think that two women from Chechnya decided to blow up two subway stations in moscow because of Obamacare?

These two ladies were homegrown terrorists that have NOTHING to do with the debates occurring in our country.

IN otherwords....stop being a dumbass and scaring people like Cheney.

Yaaawn..... we know, Islamicists, terrorism, blah blah blah.... let's ignore every other issue and focus on nothing but the looming threat of everyday terrorism.

Well, I was trying to keep  people  alert to the GLOBAL, not a local  problem of Islamic Fascism that  had arrests  in Queens fairly recently as opposed  to the manufactured  hysteria  of scaring people  about Tea Party Folks  who've done nothing. In other words, reality.

There is no doubt that there are terrorists plotting to kill more Americans.  Health care has nothing to do with this.  We cannot simply allow everything to go by the wayside and just worry about terrorists.  There are far too many issues out there to worry about these days.

Kids are bullying each other into committing suicide.
Our country is getting fatter and fatter and unhealthier every day.
Locally, it is getting more difficult for people to commute with the MTA cuts.
People are looking for work and not finding jobs.
Our toxic environment is killing us.
Countless other issues.
Personally, I cannot spend any more time worrying about terrorists.

The problem is that  this is a global movement, and it's just not Americans.

I think kids have been bullying each other since Cain and  Abel. Still, kids had parents and or some adult supervison years ago and when they did wrong the neighborhood cared more than the state.

Yes, there are other problems always will be, but, when they blew a $500 Billion hole in the economy in a half hour on 9/11, killed thousands and destroyed  two of the largest buildings on earth, it's something to bare in mind and keep other problems in context.

Personally, I was just thinking about how intelligence officials in this country have been doing a great job preventing attacks. They stopped Najibullah Zazi, they stopped the Christian Extremists in Michigan...

I say, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

I must have missed this somewhere: Tell me exactly what I could have done that morning to prevent the attacks.

I must have missed this somewhere: Tell me exactly what I could have done that morning to prevent the attacks.

Perhaps the question should be - what would FZ do to stop the attack.  I would like to know.  Is it:

Deport anyone who is a Muslim.
Bomb all Muslim countries.
Go around being paranoid looking for any piece of trash left behind by anyone who looks like a Muslim and call 911 because you think it's a bomb.
Racially profile anyone who looks like a Muslim (which would include me and nearly all of my family).

Please let me know how you would stop another attack.  I do not see a way to do this that is full-proof.

If this happened in Moscow, where I assume there is pretty strong surveillance, it can probably happen anywhere.

I have a cousin who has spent his life trying to convince people that there is a Zionist takeover of the world.  This has only alienated him from the family, made people think he is nuts, made people stop listening to him.
