Gay Rock and Roll Fans
« on: April 12, 2009, 09:04:18 PM »
You know who you are! This is just to let people know that Jon Genoli, founder of the seminal gay R&R band Pansy Division will be in NYC this week reading from his new autobiography, "deflowered, my life in Pansy Division".  :-D He will also do some acoustic songs at the readings. He is also doing a full set on Saturday night and will be at a showing of the new Pansy Division video that was just released on DVD(see the links below). They have a new album out as well, their 9th called "That's So Gay". Here is a rare opportunity for some good gay entertainment;I really can't believe that I am the only fan in all of Astoria.

THURS. 04/16/2009 - Barnes & Noble, Greenwich Village, NYC 396 Avenue of the Americas 7:00pm

FRI. 04/17/2009 - Bluestocking Books, NYC 172 Allen Street, between Stanton & Rivington (1 block south of Houston and 1st Ave.) 7:00pm

SAT. 04/18/2009 - The Cake Shop, NYC 152 Ludlow St, btwn. Stanton & Rivington -a full acoustic set, 10 PM (no reading)

SUN. 04/19/2009 - Monkey Town, Brooklyn, NYC 58 N. 3rd St., in Williamsburg (film screening + acoustic set: 2 shows, 7 & 9:30)

According to the PD website he will do a few songs at each reading whenever possible. If you allow it, I would assume that he will do some. :-D

Excellent review of last Thursday's reading.

Thanks for posting this. It's kinda cool to see a post on a blog by someone who had fun at an event at my store. BTW, Jon was great.

If you think that was great(and it was), go to the shows and see the whole band perform.
