Gov Blindguy hasn't a clue

8,900 layoffs, take it you can't leave it.
MTA rate hikes will cause you to get healthier
As you walk more often, everywhere.
Does this governor relish stealing loss from the jaws of victory?
At this rate he's not even going to be a one-term governor;  less than one term!
Sen Schumer only half right;  not only do Dems have power vacuum,
they haven't a clue.
If I can't walk there,
It doesn't exist.

I like the story about his secret plan to raise taxes on the rich, only to have the taxes magically expire right before he ran for re-election so he could claim he lowered taxes. I tell you, Governor Paterson impresses me more every day.

For a smart guy,  Gov. Patterson proved to have no real sense of humor after tussling with Saturday Night Live.  That's where he lost me.  Political Correctness was more important than substance, so now that satiric sendup will ultimately be what he'll be best known for after he exits office.  And he had such promise!

By the way, my dream SNL skit at this point is one where Fred Armisen plays Paterson, Obama, and Bobby Jindal all at the same time. (Obviously it would have to be a digital short or something.) I don't know what they would all do, but I know it would be great.

Nice skit wish. Maybe they could be discussing an elephant.

What kind of clue(s) would another gov not blind have?
How is it that Pataki is supposed to be a better alternative?

I thought he shrugged it off? Or maybe I'm thinking of someone else making a bad joke......and yeah, I so hope Cuomo runs against him.

Cuomo? I can't think of any state or federal politician who deserves the comtempt of the elected more than he. If he looks serious, I'm starting a "Blago in '10" campaign.
I don't beg often but please please please no more Cuomo. He has done too much damage in his life already.

I thought Como was a reasonable moderate, compared to Spitzer who used color of authority to essentially criminalize being a wealthy businessman.  But he is waaaaaaaaay off base with his handling of the current AIG issue.

I think it's all political posturing and that he is definitely going to run for governor. I'm getting the impression that most people think the AIG thing has been handled really well, at least in terms of getting outraged about it and demanding bonuses back as well as the public shaming of all workers in financial industries. I was shocked when that judge agreed with Cuomo that the names of Merrill Lynch bonus recipients should be released, even after Cuomo wouldn't guarantee confidentiality. I am getting a Spitzer #2 impression from this guy.

Yeah, I think from a populist standpoint, it makes sense.  But not so much in terms of policy.  Everyone is hurting, and people are having a visceral reaction to the mess we're in (someone thumbed me down on my statement above, for example).  The notion that the government should release the names of those people is preposterous to me.  Can anyone explain what the end result of such a "shaming" should be?  These guys are already getting death threats without having their name in the paper.  Are they not entitled to equal protection under the law?  Or does political sentiment supercede such things?

My problem with him actually goes back to his days as director of HUD. There are many to blame for our current financial mess, vis-a-vis housing. But this is the guys who started the ball rolling. His proclamation that, sure there will be more loans defaulted on, is the absolute pinnacle of arrogance. Yet he has never, to my knowledge, come out and say that maybe, just maybe that was a bad idea. And I also feel that getting a job as HUD director because your daddy was viewed as heavy player in Democratic politics just shows the underlying rot in politics today.
There are a few people who have done their job so terribly, that they really need to find another line of work. He is one of them. And amazingly, people of this state will support him.

Has he seen these reports?   :|
Did not imagine support could drop like this. But maybe voters will forget and smile again next year.
Otherwise, would we see an epic comeback or some sort of graceful disappearance?

I like the Gov's rhetoric. But there is no substance yet behind it.
Maybe he can take a vacation, let Silver run things for a time, come back next spring and hope for better.

What is Cuomo and what is Giuliani up to these days?
