There's one on Ditmars, across from Eckerd (between 31st and 33rd).

There's also a Goodwill at 32-36 Steinway St. (at Broadway).

I believe those are the only two I've come across in Astoria.

Oh, I forgot one:

Second Best - I believe it's Astoria Boulevard, just north of 31st Street.

There's one on 30th Ave, across from Trade Fair.  Can't remember the name, but I've gotten some really good stuff there.

There's also a Salvation Army on Steinway - not sure of the cross street.   The last time I heard they still had gay-unfriendly policies ... I should check on that, I guess.

The one accross Eckerd on Ditmars is good. Brought my friend there and she bought alot of stuff. I got lucky with scoring, at last minute, a cheap jacket for New Year's Eve there. Will check the other ones posted here.

there's also one on Crescent and 30th Avenue next to the health food store. I forget it's name, but it's fairly new.

what about consignment?

Are there any consignment shops nearby?  Usually they've got better stuff than the thrifts.

My favorite is in the city - but it's owned by an Astorian so I'll give her a plug and hopefully you treasure hunters will go find her and let her know I sent you.  The shop is called Filaka it's on 9th Street in the E. Village between 1st and 2nd.  I've found some great bargains there.
